Congressman Mitchell On Passage of Rescissions Passage
WASHINGTON – Congressman Paul Mitchell (MI-10) released the following statement after House passage of H.R. 3, the Spending Cuts to Expired and Unnecessary Programs Act.
“Today I voted in support of the Spending Cuts to Expired and Unnecessary Programs Act, which returns $14.7 billion to the U.S. Treasury from accounts previously appropriated that were either unobligated, or no longer authorized to be spent. With our national debt now topping $21 trillion, we must look to cut waste and spending, and this bill is a good place to start. I will continue working with my colleagues to cut our national debt, and reduce the future burden on our children and grandchildren.”
