Congressman Mitchell reacts to news that Macomb County’s Sebille Manor named site of new Southeast Michigan Veterans Home
Shelby Township, MI – Congressman Paul Mitchell (MI-10) released the following statement after the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency announced it acquired 103 acres of land in Chesterfield Township, Michigan to build a new, state-of-the-art veterans home. The land, purchased by the State of Michigan from the U.S. Department of Defense, is the site of a former military housing complex known as Sebille Manor.
“The Sebille Manor site in Macomb County is the perfect location for the new Southeast Michigan Veterans Home. Already home to Selfridge Air National Guard Base, the Detroit Arsenal, and more, Macomb County has a long history of supporting our nation’s military, and this new Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency facility will improve and expand long-term care for Michigan’s veterans. I look forward to the construction of this new facility that will ensure more veterans can receive the benefits they earned.”
