Press Release

Shelby Township, Mich. – Congressman Paul Mitchell (MI-10) released the following statement today following the public release of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report:

“Today’s release of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report reinforces what I and many others have said all along – there was no collusion between members of the Trump Campaign or any American and Russia. Throughout the investigation process I was encouraged by the bipartisan faith in Mueller’s integrity and ability, and I am glad Attorney General William Barr released the report to the public to the fullest extent possible under law – something I have consistently advocated and voted for,” said Mitchell. “Mueller’s investigation was extremely exhaustive, spanning 22 months and a team of 60 investigators issuing more than 2,800 subpoenas, conducting 500 interviews, and executing 500 search warrants. Now that it has concluded, I hope Congress can return to working on policies that address the priorities of the American people including health care, infrastructure, and more. That being said, I still have concerns about, and believe we should have a thorough investigation of, the way this investigation began – surveillance of American citizens and a political campaign predicated on political opposition research. No one in our nation should have their constitutional rights violated on political grounds.”
