Congressman Mitchell Statement on U.S. Department of Transportation Grant for Blue Water Customs Plaza
WASHINGTON – Congressman Paul Mitchell (MI-10) released the following statement on a grant to be awarded to the Blue Water Customs Plaza from the U.S. Department of Transportation.
“I’m pleased to announce that later this week the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) will award the Blue Water Customs Plaza in Port Huron a $25 million Infrastructure For Rebuilding America (INFRA) grant. As 10th District residents are well aware, expanding the customs plaza has been a long-time priority for the community and the state, that unfortunately has sat idle for multiple administrations. Since I began serving in Congress I have made it clear to USDOT how important it is to finally move forward with the project and why this grant is necessary. With this announcement from the Trump Administration I am hopeful that after waiting more than 10 years this project can finally be built to benefit our economy, transportation systems, and national security.”
