Mitchell Applauds $150 Million GM Investment in Flint
WASHINGTON – Congressman Paul Mitchell (MI-10) released the following statement after General Motors Co. announced a $150 million investment in the Flint Assembly plant to increase production of heavy-duty pickups by 40,000 vehicles a year. Additionally, the plant has added 1,000 new jobs in the last year, bringing the plant’s employment to more than 5,000.
“I am thrilled to hear General Motors is increasing production of in demand, heavy-duty trucks in Michigan - the automotive capital of the world. General Motors’ investments in our region represent a significant commitment to American workers and manufacturing, and create well-paying skilled trade jobs for my constituents,” said Mitchell.
