Mitchell on the House Passage of the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act
Washington, D.C. – Representative Mitchell (MI-10) released the following statement after the House passed H.R. 2353, the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act, which he sponsored.
“I spent 35 years in workforce education, so I know the economic opportunity and advantages of the right education. Too often students aren’t given the opportunity to choose a career and technical education (CTE) program,” said Representative Mitchell.
“Those who might want to pursue technical careers lack the access to educational programs designed to prepare them for those career paths. CTE programs give students a hands-on opportunity to expand and build skills needed for technical careers. Today’s bipartisan legislation will update the federal law supporting CTE programs to ensure students can learn skills that align with local, in-demand jobs.”
