Mitchell Presents Medals to Macomb Veteran

Shelby Township, MI – Today, Congressman Paul Mitchell (MI-10) presented medals to United States Navy Veteran, Robert Dyson from Macomb. Dyson earned the medals during his two tours of duty in Vietnam from 1967 to 1969. 

Congressman Mitchell presented Dyson with the Presidential Unit Citation, Navy Unit Commendation, National Defense Service Medal, and Navy Discharge Button. 

Dyson was previously awarded the Bronze Star Medal (with combat “V” appurtenance) and a Vietnam Service Medal (with 1 bronze star appurtenance). 

“I am honored to present Mr. Dyson with these medals denoting extraordinary acts of heroism in service to our country.  We owe our veterans a debt of gratitude which can never be repaid.  These medals are a small token of our appreciation for their sacrifice and bravery.”
