Mitchell Statement on Scheduled Release of the Brandon Road Study

July 29, 2017
Press Release

Washington, D.C. – Representative Paul Mitchell (MI-10) released the following statement after the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) announced the scheduled release of the Brandon Road Study on August 7, 2017.

"After months of delays and bipartisan, multi-state, calls on the Army Corps to release the Brandon Road Study, I am relieved that the Army Corps has announced they will release the report. It's hard to overstate the importance and urgency of keeping Asian carp out of the Great Lakes, given their importance to our region as a natural resource, source of commerce, and tourism. The Brandon Road Study, which had long been paid for and completed, will help provide essential guidance to prevent large scale devastation to our Lakes," said Representative Mitchell.

Earlier this week, Representative Mitchell introduced an amendment calling on the USACE to release the Brandon Road Study.  Read more and watch the debate here.
