Mitchell Supports Legislation to Protect the Unborn
Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Paul Mitchell (MI-10) announced his support of pro-life legislation.
“Every year, one million unborn babies are stripped of the right to life, which our Declaration of Independence calls unalienable,” said Congressman Mitchell.
Earlier this week the House passed Mitchell co-sponsored legislation, H.R. 7, the “No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act.” This legislation establishes a government-wide permanent prohibition on funding for abortion.
Congressman Mitchell is also a co-sponsor of the following pro-life legislation:
- Conscience Protection Act (H.R. 644): Prevents the Federal, State, or local government from discriminating against a health care provider that does not participate in abortion.
- Defund Planned Parenthood Act of 2017 (H.R. 354): Prohibits Title X federal grants from going to abortion providers.
- Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act (H.R. 36): Bans abortion of unborn children at 20 weeks of pregnancy.
- Prenatal Nondiscrimination Act (PRENDA) (H.R. 147): States that an unborn child cannot be aborted based on its sex.
Congressman Mitchell also co-signed a letter to President Trump and Vice President Pence asking them to consider pro-life measures such as Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, expanding the Hyde Amendment to apply government-wide, and ending taxpayer funded abortions.
