Mitchell Welcomes 2017 Congressional Art Competition Winner to Capitol
Washington, D.C. – Yesterday, Representative Paul Mitchell (MI-10) welcomed Port Huron Northern student Andrea Dunn, the 2017 Winner of the Congressional Art Competition, to the U.S. Capitol for a reception honoring Congressional Art Competition winners from across the country.
The U.S. House of Representatives sponsors a nationwide art competition each year to feature the artistic talents of high school students. Winning artwork from across the country is displayed in the Capitol for one year.

“I am proud to welcome Andrea and her family to the Capitol, and eager to share her artwork with the thousands of people who will visit the Capitol this year. The Congressional Art Competition is an excellent way to showcase the talent of our students, and I encourage students accross the district to participate next year," said Representative Mitchell.
Andrea was named the winner of the 2017 Congressional Art Competition at a reception in Port Huron in April. Certificates were also awarded to top pieces in photography or graphic design and original or mixed media. To see these pieces, visit Rep. Mitchell’s Facebook page here.
