Rep. Mitchell Votes in Favor of Tax Reform 2.0
WASHINGTON – Congressman Paul Mitchell (MI-10) released the following statement today after voting in favor of three bills he cosponsored, the American Innovation Act (H.R. 6756), the Family Savings Act (H.R. 6757), and the Protecting Family and Small Business Tax Cuts Act (H.R. 6760).
“This week we are building upon the achievements of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act by advancing three critical pieces of legislation that will further improve the lives of all Americans,” said Mitchell. “Last December, Congress passed the most comprehensive tax reform our country has seen in decades, and our economy shows that it is working: since the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act became law, more than 700 companies have given a pay raise, bonuses, increased 401(k) contributions. Consumer optimism is nearing record highs, unemployment is nearing record lows, and small businesses are expanding. These three bills take these successes to the next level; making permanent the individual and small business tax cuts, expanding options for families to save for retirement, and helping new businesses get off the ground.”
Congressman Mitchell previously introduced the Tax Cuts and Jobs Middle Class Enhancement Act, which would make individual tax cuts permanent, increase the standard deduction, and more.
